【Lecture Content】
The lecture schedule below may be subject to change.
Day 1: Lecture sequence, combinations, probability, expansions, binomial theorem
Day 2: Sequences, sum of sequences, mathematical induction, recursive formula (including stochastics)
Day 3: Exponentials, logarithms, natural logs, limits
Day 4: Differential calculus (product, quotient, derivative of synthetic function, etc.)
Day 5: Integral calculus (partial integrals etc.)
Day 6: Matrix operations, inverse matrices
Day 7: Calculation of eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and matrices to the nth power of a matrix
Day 8: General review/practice
Lectures will proceed with approximately 50% lecture and 50% exercises.
In the Mathematics beginner course, lectures will advance the basic knowledge of high school and early university mathematics necessary for learning the math of the primary level actuary mathematics exam (probability, statistics, and modeling). Even those studying humanities, or those who have not seen mathematics for a while, should rest at ease knowing that our course will allow students to learn and review the basic knowledge required for passing mathematics subjects in a short period of time.
