Life Insurance Mathematics
About the Instructor
※There will be 20 units in total. The first ten units of the life insurance course (from July 15 to September 9) will include lectures on the essential topics related to life insurance mathematics.
The second half of the course (the ten units beginning in September) will proceed with students selecting and solving past problems of actuarial examinations on life insurance mathematics.
This course aims to be a strong support for people aiming to pass the exam in December.

Worked on problems dealing with life insurance mathematics at the Actuary Examination Study Group.
Lecture Schedule
The following schedule is subject to change:
20 Units in Total (1 Unit is 2 hours, ten lectures and ten practice sessions)
Units 1-3: Interest rates and life table / insurance premium calculation etc.
Units 4-6: Policy reserves / contract changes etc.
Units 7-10: Other topics (steady state / consecutive insurance / remaining withdrawal table / disability insurance etc)
Units 11-20: Problem Exercises
With the exercises, I mainly deal with past problems from actuary exams and end of chapter problems from Professor Futami’s textbook (Parts 1 and 2). Although it is fine to look at notes and materials when solving problems, please prepare yourself to ultimately be able to answer each question without assistance.
